It seems like jiu-jitsu superstar Danielle Kelly is getting her Christmas wish granted early this month. She recently sealed her third grappling match in ONE Championship and is set to face MMA veteran ‘Zombie’ Ayaka Miura under the submission grappling ruleset.
The major event will take place on Friday, February 10 at ONE on Prime Video 7: Lineker vs. Andrade II. North American fans can enjoy this event live and for free with a Prime Video subscription.
The Philadelphia-native is fresh off a scintillating finish against multiple-time sambo world champion Mariia Molchanova at ONE on Prime Video 4: Abbasov vs. Lee.

She submitted the Russian sambo world champion with a quick rear-naked choke in under two minutes, earning herself her second straight performance bonus of $50,000 USD.
Kelly’s newest challenge, Ayaka Miura, will be her latest major competitor with an MMA background. Kelly has wins over notable MMA veterans Carla Esparza and Roxanne Modafferi in grappling competitions and went the distance against former ONE world title challenger Mei Yamaguchi in her promotional debut earlier this year.
Miura, however, will be Kelly’s first encounter with a judo stylist with years of wrestling experience under her belt. Known for her signature “Ayaka Lock,” the Japanese stalwart is one of the most prolific finishers in the women’s strawweight rankings.
All four of the Japanese stalwart’s wins in the circle have come by way of submission, and with Kelly’s penchant for hunting for a finish, look for this match to end before the 10-minute limit.
Danielle Kelly hopes to avenge her loss against ONE newcomer Jessa Khan in 2023
Danielle Kelly is haunted by one of her career losses against 2022 Pan IBJJF world champion Jessa Khan. She faced the Cambodian-American black belt at Who’s #1 back in early 2021, returning home empty-handed by way of decision.
Back in July, Khan was expected to make her ONE debut against no-gi world champion ‘Tubby’ Amanda Alequin on the stacked ONE 159 card, but the bout was regrettably canceled before the event took place. Therefore, jiu-jitsu fans await her debut with great anticipation.
If Danielle Kelly wins her next match, it wouldn’t be too farfetched to think that she can be in line for a world title opportunity. If she is given the chance, she already has an opponent in mind who could stand opposite her in the circle.
Speaking to ONE, Danielle Kelly said:
“If ONE would do a women’s World Title, I would love to go against Jessa Khan. People think I’m dodging jiu-jitsu people, but I’ve been studying her, so I hope I get that match.”
