Danielle Kelly unsure whether to end Ayaka Miura early or have some fun with her opponent

Danielle Kelly is oozing confidence ahead of her catchweight submission grappling match against Ayaka Miura. So much so that she's debating whether or not to finish the bout early or to have some extra fun.

The New Jersey native will welcome Miura to the sport of submission grappling at ONE Fight Night 7 on Prime Video. Kelly is hoping to secure her second straight submission victory after choking out Mariia Molchanova in her last outing.

Heading into the match, Kelly spoke to reporters about her thoughts on the matchup. She said in her pre-fight interview:

"I’m just debating with myself if I want to keep the match short. Just submit her right away or make it fun, but you know, I'm going to be way lighter than her, so I don't know if I want to play with her too much. She's really good. She's strong at what she does. Yeah, I have a few tricks up my sleeve."

Ayaka Miura warns Danielle Kelly not to underestimate her ahead of showdown at ONE Fight Night 7

Japan's Miura is a Judo star who owns 4 MMA wins inside the Circle but has lost her last two fights. Despite facing a tough test in her submission grappling debut, 'Zombie' claims Danielle Kelly shouldn't make the mistake of underestimating her.

Miura claims to be an entirely different matchup than Kelly's former opponent Mei Yamaguchi, telling ONE:

“Mei Yamaguchi is an MMA fighter, but she's also very good at jiu-jitsu. I think I'm a bit different from Mei Yamaguchi, but I also trained with Mei for this upcoming fight. And then I got some advice from her. But the style is different.”

Notably, all four of Miura's victories under ONE Championship have come by way of submission. The 32-year-old has won three times via Americana and once via Scarhold Armlock.
