Danny Aarons penned a heartfelt message to his team, fight fans, and opponent Danny Simpson after the MF & DAZN X Series 17 fight on Aug. 31. While the duo had no prior experience in competitive boxing, they put on an entertaining fight that ended in a split draw.
Aarons took to X after the fight and expressed his gratitude toward everyone who made the event a success:
"I'M UNDEFEATED!!! Jokes aside that was the best experience of my life, thank you so much to everyone that came and supported or watched the PPV, you’re the reason I get to do crazy things like this. Nothing but respect to Danny Simpson, who stepped in on five weeks' notice and was nothing but respectful towards me and my team, it was an honor to fight him."

Aarons is a popular social media star while Simpson is a former professional football player who played as a right back. Simpson's athletic background made him a serious threat despite his lack of boxing experience.
To raise the stakes of the fight, it was decided that Simpson would give his Premier League gold medal from his title-winning season with Leicester City to Aaron if he lost. Meanwhile, Aaron would surrender his YouTube plaque for reaching one million subscribers to Simpson if the footballer emerged victorious.
While both men showed technical flaws in their fight, they appeared to have given their best and produced a closely contested bout that ended in a split draw (39-37, 37-39, 38-38).
Barring the main event, every fight on the MS & DAZN X Series 17 main card ended in a T/KO. In the co-headlining bout, Anthony Taylor successfully defended the Misfits Boxing light heavyweight title with a third-round KO of Gabriel Silva. HSTikkyTokky's ringside brawl after finishing George Fensom also became a major talking point about the event.
