In the main event of MF & DAZN X Series 17, Danny Simpson and Danny Aarons fought to a split draw in the most competitive bout of the card. As two men with no prior boxing experience or knowledge, Simpson and Aarons had a friendly wager on the line entering the fight.
As a former professional football player, Simpson put his Premier League medal on the line. However, even though he did not win, Simpson kept his medal after the draw.
Aarons had no previous athletic experience to his name but is 15 years younger than the 37-year-old Simpson and claimed he would still have the speed and athleticism advantage. While nowhere near the level of Simpson on a football field, a lot of Aarons' media content is football-based, allowing him to gain 1.74 YouTube subscribers.

With the fight ending in a draw, Simpson and Aarons unofficially agreed to a rematch in their post-fight interviews.
Danny Simpson's post-football career
Since announcing his official retirement in July, Danny Simpson had remained involved with the football scene before dipping his toes into professional boxing. After hanging up his cleats, Simpson began working for MUTV, the television channel owned by and directly associated with Manchester United.
Simpson began his career with the Manchester United club in 2006 but appeared in just three games for the team. He would bounce around with different clubs for the remainder of his career but had his most success with Leicester City from 2014 to 2019, where he was a part of the 2015-2016 Premier League championship-winning team.
After his fight with Danny Aarons in Misfits Boxing, it is unclear how active Simpson plans to be in the boxing ring. At 37, the former defender has accumulated a sizeable net worth and does not need to fight but seemed intent on continuing his new career path following the split draw.
