Dante Leon is a well-rounded submission grappling contender who believes that he has the right balance in his game.
The Canadian competitor has made quite the impact since signing with ONE Championship toward the end of 2024. After recording an impressive debut last month with a submission win over Bruno Pucci, Dante Leon looked to settle an old score against a former opponent.
At ONE Fight Night 27 on Jan. 10, he locked horns with Tommy Langaker for the second time in a catchweight submission grappling affair inside the Lumpinee Stadium.
Leon was able to get his revenge by beating Langaker via the scorecards after ending the contest on top.

When breaking down the match and where he believes it was won or lost, the exciting contender spoke about his game and the impact of strength.
While he is a very physical competitor who uses this to his advantage, Dante Leon said in his post-event press conference that this means nothing without having the technical skill behind it:
"Stronger people are usually harder to hurt. They can usually take more damage, and I believe that's the case with me being a stronger athlete, but technique is always going to be number one. If I didn't have my technical ability, I wouldn't be able to use my strength the same way that I do."
Dante Leon has continued to evolve his game
Beating Tommy Langaker in their second encounter shows how Dante Leon has continued to evolve and improve in recent years.
Both strength and skill are crucial elements of being a top level competitor and the Canadian acknowledges that.
However, he has the right approach of not relying on his strength without applying the right techniques first.
Langaker proved to be a tough test for him once again but this kind of win proves that Leon belongs right at the top.
