Canadian Brazilian jiu-jitsu star Dante Leon picked up his second win in ONE Championship when he unanimously beat Tommy Langaker in their catchweight submission grappling match last Friday evening at ONE Fight Night 27, which went down inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Leon's aggressive style and swift transitions persuaded the judges to give him the nod after neither man was able to submit the other in the single round 10-minute battle.
This triumph has made the 29-year-old athlete believe he is now in line to face the reigning ONE lightweight submission grappling world champion, Kade Ruotolo, for his crown.
Leon mentioned this during his post-event press conference, saying:

"I believe I've solidified myself as the number one contender. So we'll see whether it's the challenge for the title next or challenge another up-and-comer. We'll have to see about that."
Before beating Langaker, Leon made a successful promotional debut last December 2024 when he submitted ONE Championship veteran Bruno Pucci in the scrap.
Dante Leon reveals that his technical skills propelled him against Tommy Langaker at ONE Fight Night 27
The Pedigo Submission Fighting representative also analyzed his victory over the Norwegian submission artist during the post-event press conference, and according to him, his technical skills complemented his physicality to get the job done against Langaker.
Leon explained:
"Stronger people are usually harder to hurt. They can usually take more damage, and I believe that's the case with me being a stronger athlete, but technique is always going to be the number one. If I didn't have my technical ability, I wouldn't be able to use my strength the same way that I do."
