Dante Leon says he won’t wait for the Ruotolo brothers to land big fights: “It looks like they're more focused on getting MMA fights”

29-year-old Brazilian jiu-jitsu star and former IBJJF no-gi world champion Dante Leon of Canada will not wait around for Kade and Tye Ruotolo to get their ducks in a row and face him in the ring.

Leon says that while he is targetting a big fight against one of the Ruotolo twins, he is more than inclined to face other big names ONE Championship puts in front of him.

The Canadian BJJ black belt is fresh off a unanimous decision victory over Tommy Langaker at ONE Fight Night 27 on Prime Video last weekend. And he's looking for his next big matchup, whether that involves a Ruotolo or not.

The Pedigo Submission Fighting representative told ONE Championship:

"You know, it's hard to say right now. Like I said, there's a lot of change that can happen. I know the guys who are holding the titles right now, they're interested in MMA, and it looks like they're more focused on getting MMA fights than they are on grappling matches."

Dante Leon is taking matters into his own hands: "I don't want my plans to revolve around somebody else"

Dante Leon prides himself in being a man of action. And as a man of action, he doesn't want to just sit idle and wait for Kade or Tye Ruotolo to come to the plate.

"So that's not exactly something that might fit in their schedule or fit into their plans, and I don't want my plans to revolve around somebody else taking MMA fights or somebody else not being prepared."
