Darren Till's boxing match against Tommy Fury, scheduled to take place in January, has been called off after Fury's decision to withdraw from the fight. His decision to do so has infuriated the former UFC star, who took to X to slam both Fury and his father, John.
'The Gorilla' caught the attention of fans, as well as his then-opponent, when he stated during a pre-fight press conference that he would kick 'TNT" in the head if he was losing their boxing match.
It appears that those comments were the catalyst for Fury's decision to opt out of their scheduled clash.
Till took to X to share his thoughts on the matter, and said:

"I've just been shown that Tommy Fury's put up a post saying that he's not fighting me because I've threatened to kick him in the head. I said I'd kick him in the head at the press conference as a mental warfare tactic, and since then I haven't said anything."
He continued:
"He's a sh*thouse, [his] family are sh*thouses and now Tommy's not fighting... Never in a million years would I throw a head kick in a fight that is only boxing rules. I stick to the rules."

Tommy Fury releases statement withdrawing from Darren Till clash
Darren Till and Tommy Fury were involved in a heated press conference several weeks ago as part of the media build-up for their scheduled fight in January.
During the media scrum, the former UFC fighter threatened to head kick Fury should Till be losing in their scheduled clash. But it seems those words were too much for 'TNT', who announced in an Instagram story earlier today that he would be withdrawing from the bout.
He wrote:
"I can't believe I'm writing this but I am now not fighting Darren Till on January 18th 2025. For the one simple reason being that Darren has stated over and over that he does not want to abide by professional boxing rules and that if he is losing the fight he will resort to kicking and other stupid MMA tactics."
Fury continued:
"I am a professional boxer, I have been out of the ring for over a year and I wanted to be a great BOXING fight for fans. I have wasted weeks in training camp."
