Heading into UFC 310, Garry held a professional MMA record of 15-0, including eight wins inside the Octagon. At 27 years old, the Irish-born welterweight has plenty of time to bounce back and earn a welterweight title shot.

Meanwhile, Rakhmonov now holds a 19-0 record, with seven wins in the UFC. Rakhmonov's unanimous decision win against Garry was the first time in his professional MMA career that he didn't finish his opponent.

Ian Garry declares focus to "grow and evolve" following loss against Shavkat Rakhmonov

Following UFC 310, Ian Garry was satisfied with his performance, refusing to be disappointed about losing for the first time. 'The Future' later posted a photo on Instagram of him nearly submitting Shavkat Rakhmonov and added this caption:

"Short notice against the 'boogyman’ and I took him to places he’s never been before. It’s my job now to grow and evolve. I will see that man again and I’m excited for that day."

Garry was arguably the first fighter to make Shavkat Rakhmonov look beatable. Before their recent showdown, Rakhmonov showcased his world championship potential with submission wins against Neil Magny, Geoff Neal, and Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson.

Rakhmonov's next challenge will be against UFC welterweight champion Belal Muhammad. The plans for 2025 were further confirmed when Rakhmonov and Muhammad faced off inside the octagon at UFC 310.
