Darren Till shared a critical opinion about the recent Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry boxing match. On July 20, Paul defeated Perry by sixth-round KO after thoroughly dominating the fight.

While Perry survived two early knockdowns and kept trying to go on the offensive, his brawling style proved ineffective with the apparent lack of defensive tools. Meanwhile, Paul continued to inflict damage with the effective use of jabs, powerful hooks and overhands. Perry credited his opponent for his skills after the fight. However, many have attributed the outcome to Paul's massive size advantage, as well as Perry's questionable choices in the fight.

In a recent interview with Submission Radio, Till chimed in with his thoughts on the fight. While admitting that he did not watch the full contest, Till said:

"I thought, from the clips I've seen, it was just atrocious! I didn't expect this low of a level from Perry. It was just low-level striking and boxing. Jake was terrible and so was Mike. Jake was blown out of his gas and Mike was just stumbling over his own two feet."

He continued:

"It looked to me like Mike has never had or been coached by anyone. He just looked like a total amateur in there. He should have beat Jake. Maybe not, Jake was 40 pounds heavier than him, juiced out of his nut. But still, he probably should have put up a better fight than he did."

Darren Till makes bold claim, says Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry might have been a "fake" fight

Influencer boxing matches have been criticized for their lack of relevance in the mainstream. A section of the combat sports community has also questioned the legitimacy of the fights.

Continuing further in the aforementioned interview with Submission Radio, Darren Till raised similar concerns about the Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry bout, saying:

"It was a weird fight between them. It feels like it's all fake, I'm not going to lie." [2:27]

When asked to share why he thought so, Till said:

"Perry has been beating all these guys, literally beaten the living daylight out of them. Now, I get that Jake Paul is 40 pounds heavier than him, a big, strong guy. He can punch and he is improving. But Jake was gassing after one [round] man. And it just doesn't look normal to me [that Perry could not beat him]." [2:47]

Till was expected to fight Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in the opening bout of the Paul vs. Perry card. However, he was forced to pull out and was replaced by fellow ex-UFC fighter Uriah Hall.
