Regis Prograis caused a stir at the final pre-fight media event ahead of his bout with Jack Catterall on Oct. 26. Near the end of the press conference, Prograis played a voice note that Catterall's manager, Sam Jones, had sent him several years ago.
In the voice note, Jones could be heard stating that he thought 'Rougarou' would knock the Englishman out if they fought, drawing numerous reactions from fighters and promoters at the press conference.
He initially denied the legitimacy of the voice note. But Jones was forced to accept reality, before he attempted to explain the context behind the message, stating that he did not know 'El Gato' at that time.
The incident went viral online, with former UFC fighter Darren Till catching wind of the footage. He took aim at the boxing manager with a scathing post, where he wrote:

"Hahahahahahaha you've had a stinker you little slithering rat with no loyalty or morals hahahahahaha go and crawl under that rock ya fart bag."
Jones responded to 'The Gorilla', explaining the nature of the message, and wrote this:
"2021 when I was working with Regis, Darren, but I still expected a nice message from you. Hope all is well."

Eddie Hearn reacts to Regis Prograis' leaking Sam Jones DM ahead of Jack Catterall clash
Eddie Hearn found himself sat right next to Regis Prograis when the pugilist decided to put the spotlight on Jack Catterall's manager, Sam Jones.
The former WBC champion had previously worked with Jones, and took the opportunity to expose the manager for his past comments about how clash between 'Rougarou' and Catterall would unfold.
The incident has caught the attention of much of the boxing world, and Hearn himself shared his thoughts on the matter during a recent interview with Boxing News.
He said:
"I've never seen Sam Jones actually lost for words before. The thing is in boxing is you say things a couple of years ago, and everything can change. But they can always get pulled up. Obviously Sam, before he knew Jack Catterall, had a different opinion in what would happen in a fight with Regis Prograis and Jack Catterall. Which was quite amusing."
