Only one day remains until UFC 305 with the fighters weighing in on Aug. 16. Headliners Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya were the first two to the scale to make their bout official.
Adesanya was the first to take the stage, weighing in at 184 pounds. Du Plessis was not far behind him to confirm their matchup, coming in at the divisional limit of 185 pounds.
As always, fans gave their take on the weigh-in results. Despite neither fighter having a history of struggling to make 185 pounds, some felt that Adesanya looked more depleted than usual while others noticed the improved physique of 'Stillknocks.'

Dricus Du Plessis' title reign
Dricus du Plessis has only begun his reign as the UFC middleweight champion but has already had one of the most interesting years for a titleholder.
After winning the belt by split decision against Sean Strickland at UFC 297, du Plessis called out Israel Adesanya for his first title defense to settle their rivalry. 'Stillknocks' had his wish granted, setting up the UFC 305 main event.
Du Plessis and Adesanya began their bad blood nearly a year before their scheduled fight. When Adesanya was the defending champion, du Plessis sparked their ongoing controversial debate by saying he wanted to become the first "real" African champion.
Overall, du Plessis is 7-0 in the octagon since debuting with the UFC in 2020. His nine-fight win streak extends back to his time at KSW in 2019.
