Demetrious Johnson can typically be found inside the circle delivering another world-class performance, but at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video, ‘Mighty Mouse’ traded in his gloves for a headset.
The reigning ONE flyweight world champion sat circleside with Mitch Chilson and Rich Franklin to do commentary for the second half of ONE Championship’s first event of 2023. Following the festivities, Johnson shared his thoughts on working the commentary booth at the event’s post-fight press event:
“Oh, it was great. I know Mitch and Rich Franklin. We trained together in the past and those guys are all knowledgeable and I loved it.”
Demetrious Johnson did a great job on the call, but luckily fans won’t have to wait too long before he makes his return to the circle for a flyweight showdown with division rival Adriano Moraes. The two warriors will square off for the third time as ONE Championship makes its long-awaited debut in the United States.

Demetrious Johnson excited to close out rivalry with Adriano Moraes in North America
After nearly five years, Demetrious Johnson will compete in front of a live American audience for the first time when ONE Championship heads to Colorado for their North American debut on May 5. Speaking to the South China Morning Post, ‘Mighty Mouse’ shared his excitement for ONE’s U.S. debut, saying:
"Super excited about that. May 5th, Colorado, Broomfield. Looking forward to my trilogy with Adriano Moraes for the flyweight belt. I’m just gonna go out there and do my thing."
Johnson and Moraes originally met in April 2021 at ONE on TNT 1 with Moraes’ handing ‘Mighty Mouse’ the first knockout loss of his career to retain the ONE flyweight title. 16 months later Johnson would exact revenge by delivering a massive flying knee in the fourth round of their rematch to capture his first ONE world championship.
They’ll meet in the middle of the circle once again this spring to decide once and for all who the undisputed flyweight world champion truly is.
