Demetrious Johnson is taking a do-or-die approach to his highly anticipated trilogy bout with Adriano Moraes next month.
On May 5, ‘Mighty Mouse’ will attempt to defend his ONE flyweight world championship for the very first time against the man he took it from. That will be no easy task for the flyweight great, but Johnson is more than ready to go out on his shield if necessary. In an interview with Wakandan Savage, Johnson said:
“You can expect that I’m gonna go out there and blow the roof off! I train extremely hard, I’m going to go out there and take him out or I’m going to go out on my shield.”
ONE Fight Night 10 will host the third meeting between the two flyweight superstars. The pair have already delivered instant classics in their first two meetings, each scoring a highlight-reel-worthy knockout over the other. Adriano Moraes was the first to strike, earning a brutal second-round knockout against ‘Mighy Mouse’ at ONE on TNT 1 in 2021.

The two parties went their separate ways with Johnson taking on Muay Thai superstar Rodtang Jitmuangnon in the promotion’s first-ever mixed-rules superfight while Moraes went on to defend his title once again against Yuya Wakamatsu. Five months later, they would be brought together once again, this time headlining the promotion’s debut on Amazon Prime Video.
It was there that Demetrious Johnson would score one of the biggest knockouts of his career, delivering a massive flying knee knockout in the fourth round to capture the ONE flyweight world title. With the series tied 1-1, they’ll lock up once again with big-time bragging rights and 26 pounds of ONE Championship gold on the line.
Amazon Prime Video subscribers can catch ONE Fight Night 10 live and for free in U.S. primetime on May 5.
