ONE flyweight world champion Demetrious Johnson is just trying to have fun at this point in his storied mixed martial arts career.

‘Mighty Mouse’ will return to the Circle on May 5 to defend his ONE world title against division rival Adriano Moraes in a highly anticipated trilogy bout. Johnson has every intention of walking out the winner when he headlines ONE Fight Night 10 on Prime Video, but the flyweight great refuses to stress over taking a potential loss in the high-stakes contest.

In an interview with the South China Morning Post, Demetrious Johnson was asked what could come next if he comes up on the losing end at the 1stBank Center in Colorado this spring.

“Obviously, it is what it is. I’m not the matchmaker, I don’t get to dictate what goes on with my career. I mean, I kind of could have had some match push-back. But I’m so far in my career that I’m not too concerned about it. I’m just here for a good time, don’t want to be here for a long time. We’ll see how it goes. Win or lose this fight, I’ll go and see what’s next.”

Demetrious Johnson would like to see Angela and Christian Lee take their time coming back to competition

Anybody who follows Demetrious Johnson on social media knows how important family is to the flyweight superstar. After the tragic passing of MMA prodigy Victoria Lee, Johnson suggested that her siblings and reigning ONE world champions, Angela and Christian Lee, take all the time off that they need to mourn their loss and spend as much time as possible with their loved ones. He said:

"Whenever they’re ready to come back and compete, come back and compete. If you don’t want to compete, you don’t have to compete. There’s more to life than just trying to get back to the cage and Circle side and be able to compete. Take two years, three years off and enjoy your daughter.
“I know Christian [Lee] they have a child and I know Angela has a child. Take off and be parents for a little while. Fighting ain’t going nowhere, this shit ain’t going anywhere. It’s going to be here when you guys are ready to come back. Take your time, take all the time you need to get your mind right."
