ONE women's atomweight MMA mainstay Denice Zamboanga hoped to celebrate the holidays by eating lots of food with her family in the Philippines. However, those plans were nixed to better prepare for her upcoming clash with Alyona Rassohyna at ONE Fight Night 27 on Friday, Jan. 10.
In an interview with the world's largest martial arts promotion, 'The Menace' said:
"Maybe I'll just vent my frustration on not being able to eat a lot and celebrate during the holidays with her."

No one can fault Zamboanga for putting extreme focus on her ninth bout under the ONE banner, as it will be for the interim women's atomweight MMA world championship.
The Filipina standout was set to challenge reigning queen Stamp Fairtex last June at ONE 167. Unfortunately for Zamboanga, the Thai megastar was forced off the card after suffering a torn meniscus weeks away from the event.
She instead fought Noelle Grandjean and silenced her doubters with an all-around masterclass en route to capturing the unanimous decision victory.
Denice Zamboanga shares why she has immense confidence in her abilities
Many pro athletes would say that having complete confidence in their skills will lead to success, and Denice Zamboanga feels the exact same way.
Speaking to ONE in a separate interview, the second-ranked ONE women's atomweight MMA competitor explained:
"My wrestling and BJJ has always been improving. I have a team in jiu-jitsu that truly focuses on me, they're really analyzing my moves, my strengths and weaknesses to really improve my ground game. Being a well-rounded fighter is truly important in MMA. You can't just focus on one thing. That's why I'm so confident coming into every fight."
ONE Fight Night 27 will emanate from the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The event will air live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
