If Denice Zamboanga gets the job done against Alyona Rassohyna in their interim world title showdown on Jan. 10 at ONE Fight Night 27, she won't be in a hurry for a unification battle with reigning divisional queen Stamp Fairtex.
Zamboanga proclaimed this during her pre-fight interview with journalist Nick Atkin when asked about a potential unification match with her former teammate and close friend.
The Filipina MMA star stated:
"It's up to the champion. There's no pressure on her. [I'll be ready] if she's 100 percent ready."

'The Menace' was supposed to fight Stamp for the 26-pound golden belt in June 2024 at ONE 167, however, the Thai sensation suffered an injury in the build-up to their showdown, which ultimately led to the postponement of the fight.
Instead of waiting on the sidelines, Zamboanga opted to stay active and compete for the interim belt and book another championship bout with Stamp if he gets past Rassohyna.
Denice Zamboanga honored to represent Philippines in her first world title match at ONE Fight Night 27

According to the Filipina MMA phenom, she would like to be part of the elite list of Filipino MMA stars who were able to bring glory to the country:
"Yeah, I think it's time to bring back the belt to the Philippines. It's very very [emotional]. I think I'm very blessed to have this opportunity to represent the Philippines and fight for the Philippines."
