Deontay Wilder makes shocking admission when reflecting on Saudi Arabia meeting with Tyson Fury

Deontay Wilder has admitted he wasn't happy to see Tyson Fury last month in Saudi Arabia.

Deontay Wilder is currently awaiting his next fight and has been out of the ring since a knockout win over Robert Helenius in November. The victory was a massive one for the former WBC heavyweight champion, as it snapped a two-fight losing streak.

The two defeats came at the hands of 'The Gypsy King'. Fury and Wilder famously had one of the greatest trilogies in the history of the heavyweight division. While their first outing in 2018 was a draw, the Brit would follow up with back-to-back knockout wins to end the rivalry.

The rivalry got very heated between the two men, as Deontay Wilder consistently accused Tyson Fury of cheating. Following their second fight, the former WBC heavyweight champion stated that the Brit loaded his gloves. Fury has continued to deny the accusations to this day.

Nonetheless, it seems that the two buried the hatchet last month in Saudi Arabia. Wilder and Fury were guests at Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury, and the two heavyweights greeted each other with a hug. However, looks can be deceiving.

In an interview with ESNews, Wilder admitted that he still hates Fury. But there's a time and a place, and he wanted to respect those at the event. He said:

“I can't stand that motherf***er. They know what's up, he's a cheater. But [Saudi Arabia] is a peaceful ground. There's a time and a place.”

Deontay Wilder next fight: Who will he face?

Deontay Wilder's next fight is likely Francis Ngannou.

'The Predator' exited the UFC in January, leaving as the heavyweight champion in the process. Not long after exiting the MMA promotion, he stated his intention to head to boxing.

Since then, the former UFC champion has been a popular guy. Tyson Fury, Eddie Hearn, Anthony Joshua, and even KSI's Misfits Boxing have all reportedly made contact with Ngannou.

However, it appears that Deontay Wilder is leading the charge to become Francis Ngannou's first boxing opponent. 'The Bronze Bomber' has even teased that the two could fight twice. Once in MMA, and once in boxing.

Granted, the former UFC champion stated that he wasn't planning on competing in MMA with Wilder, but they do have big plans. Ngannou has stated that a potential rematch could fall in Africa on the 50th anniversary of the Rumble in the Jungle.
