Muhammad Mokaev appears to be remorseful as he recently apologized for his behavior towards UFC staff and has asked for another chance with the promotion. Despite having an undefeated record, the flyweight contender was released from his deal with the promotion after his latest conduct was the last straw for the top brass.

During his UFC 304 post-event press conference, Dana White had confirmed that 'The Punisher' will no longer be competing for the promotion and is free to sign with the PFL. The comments sparked a reaction on social media and resulted in other fighters, including Steve Erceg, weighing in and sharing what they've witnessed from Mokaev's behavior behind-the-scenes.

Although he is a free agent and could explore other opportunities, 'The Punisher' is desperate to earn another chance with the UFC. While speaking to MMA Junkie, Mokaev apologized for his unprofessionalism and even claimed that he asked Hunter Campbell if he could fight for free.

"I said to Hunter Campbell, I said, 'Whatever I've done at the hotel, I'm ready to pay for that and fight [my] next fight in UFC for free for the trouble I made.' I think it's unprofessional but it was something that was in my heart for a long time. I have to get rid of it and I think I took a big lesson. Now I want to come back to [the] UFC and hopefully I will be back."

Muhammad Mokaev claps back at PFL president's recent comments about him

In addition to asking the UFC for a second chance to redeem himself, Muhammad Mokaev clapped back at the PFL president, Ray Sefo for claiming that he is difficult to deal with.

Following last night's PFL Nashville event, Sefo noted that they weren't interested in adding 'The Punisher' to their roster despite his unbeaten record.

During the aforementioned clip, Mokaev dismissed the PFL as a strong competitor to the UFC and noted that he had no interest in signing with them:

"Someone does something behind my back. I don't even see... PFL [as competition] to the UFC. I never spoke to PFL, they don't even have a flyweight [division]. Even in post-fight interview I asked for the new contract, because I want to fight [the] best in the world."
