One X user commented on Anheuser-Busch 's previous sponsorship of transgender woman, Dylan Mulvaney, which led to a backlash from conservatives as well as anti-trans groups.

@Mixatli wrote:

"Oh yea I heard bud light is desperate after that Mulvaney stuff. Should be interesting."

Some X users referenced an infamous moment from the previous BL sponsorship where Brock Lesnar went rogue and cut a pro-Coors Light promo at UFC 100 because "Bud Light won't pay me nothin'".

"Don't tell Brock Lesnar"

Other frequenters of X chose to go the route of Modelo mourning in the context of no longer hearing about a beverage that's "brewed for those with a fighting spirit" during UFC broadcasts.

Bud Light and Their History with UFC

Anheuser-Busch and UFC had a prior sponsorship agreement that came to an end in 2019 and made way for Modelo.

However, this new deal (per what sources relayed to ESPN) is the biggest sponsorship deal in the history of UFC.

In a statement released by the Ultimate Fighting Championship, UFC figurehead Dana White stated,

"Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light were UFC's original beer sponsors more than 15 years ago," White said. "I'm proud to announce we are back in business together. There are many reasons why I chose to go with Anheuser-Busch and Bud Light."
"Most importantly is because I feel we are very aligned when it comes to our core values and what the UFC brand stands for. I'm looking forward to all of the incredible things we will do in the years ahead."
