Devin Haney addressed his back and forth with former opponent Ryan Garcia over fight negotiations between the pair over a rematch. Haney and Garcia stepped into the boxing ring on April 20, 2024, in the Barclays Center in New York. The fight was exciting from the first round with both fighters trying to knock each other out. Garcia won the bout via majority decision, delivering a once-in-a-lifetime performance. On June 20, the result of the bout was changed to a no-contest, as Garcia tested positive for ostarine. The California native was suspended for a year and fined $1.1 million.
Haney had taken Garcia to court over his use of PEDs in the fight but it seems like Haney has put that case to bed and will look to settle the score in the ring. Full Violence reported the same on Instagram and said:
"🚨 Haney-Garcia rematch is reportedly on with Haney dropping his lawsuit and Garcia agreeing to VADA testing."

Devin Haney's lawsuit against Ryan Garcia explained
The bout between Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia was packed with controversy from the get-go. In the lead-up to the fight, the 26-year-old Garcia was acting rather weird and erratic online. At the time of the weigh-ins, Garcia came in 3.2lbs overweight which made him ineligible to win the championships. After the fight, Garcia tested positive for Ostarine, which resulted in his win being turned into a no-contest.
On the back of all these controversies, Haney took Garcia to court for the use of PED's. Part of his lawsuit said:
“At no time did Devin Haney consent to engage in a bout against a boxer who was positive for a performance-enhancing drug, performance enhancing-procedure or masking agent and would not have proceeded with the bout had he known. The New York State Athletic Commission would not have permitted the bout had it known of the positive finding or of Garcia’s IV use."
But now according to reports, it seems the pair have put the case to bed in favor of a rematch with Haney demanding Garcia to use VADA for drug testing.
