Diego Pacheco vs. Maciej Sulecki is in the books. The boxing event took place at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California, on Aug. 31 and included eight fights in seven weight classes. This article recaps the fights and explores the full results.

In the main event, Diego Pacheco put the WBC-USA and WBO International super middleweight titles on the line against No.14-ranked WBO super middleweight contender Maciej Sulecki.

Undefeated in his professional boxing career, Pacheco was coming off a unanimous decision win over Shawn McCalman. Meanwhile, Sulecki had amassed a four-fight win streak since coming up short in the title fight against Demetrius Andrade in 2019.

Pacheco was a sizeable favorite and a proven finisher heading into the fight with an 81% KO rate. However, Sulecki showed the resilience to hang with him. After relatively inactive initial rounds, the boxers opened up around the midway point. Pacheco appeared to be in control of the fight and committed to head strikes. However, Sulecki landed a few good shots which had a visible impact on Pacheco.

After coming close to finishing the Polish boxer in the closing moments of Round 5, Pacheco continued to pressure him in Round 6. A vicious body shot sent Sulecki curling down to the canvas. He could not answer the 10-count and Pacheco was declared the winner by KO. With the win, Pacheco extended his professional boxing record to 22-0.

In the lightweight co-main event, Eduardo Nunez fought Miguel Marriaga. Nunez had every advantage heading into the fight as he was the younger fighter. Nunez had the momentum on his side with a 26-1 record (26 KO). While 37-year-old Marriaga was the more experienced boxer, he had lost all three of his most recent fights and had been relatively inactive recently.

The fight quickly tilted in Nunez's favor as Marriaga had little to offer in terms of defense as well as offense. Nunes dropped Marriaga several times and smothered him with relentless pressure. To his credit, Marriaga never backed down and continued to try. After a lopsided sixth round, his corner decided to call it quits and save him from absorbing unnecessary punishment. With the win, Nunez retained his 100 percent finish rate.

Diego Pacheco vs. Maciej Sulecki: Undercard results

Arturo Cardenas attempted the second defense of his WBC Continental Americas super bantamweight title against Mexico's Jesus Arechiga in a 10-round contest. Cardenas was riding the momentum of defending the belt against Danny Barrios Flores while Arechiga was coming off the first defeat of his professional boxing career, a unanimous decision loss against Jose Ramirez Maciel.

In the fight, Cardenaz relied primarily on the power shots and landed the more impactful strikes of the fight. Meanwhile, Valdez displayed sleek boxing and was the busier fighter throughout the contest. In the end, Cardenas got the judges' nod and retained the WBC Continental Americas super bantamweight title.

Former Commonwealth Games bronze medalists Chev Clarke and Efetobor Apochi fought in a cruiserweight clash on the main card. Both men were relatively inexperienced in the professional boxing circuit. However, Britain’s Clarke had an illustrious amateur career and won regional titles in his undefeated professional boxing career.

Apochi, who suffered back-to-back split decision defeats against Brandon Glanton and Adrian Taylor, had bounced back with a TKO win over Lucas Pontes Da Silva in his last outing.

In their fight, Clarke displayed superior ring generalship and better striking. He appeared to have landed more impactful strikes consistently and came dangerously close to finishing Apochi in Round 8. After hurting the Nigerian-born fighter with a vicious left hook and right hook combo, the Brit poured it on in an attempt to finish the fight.

In an incredible display of grit and toughness, Apochi survived the onslaught. While Clarke's shots seemed to have rattled him, Apochi never lost the sense of his surroundings and survived the round.

Clarke, who seemed to have spent a lot of energy, was clipped with a stinging strike in the closing moments of Round 9. He likely lost Round 10 while Apochi aggressively chased the finish, tagging him several times. However, Clarke had controlled long stretches of the fight and earned a majority decision win.

Interim WBC women’s flyweight champion Adelaida Ruiz put her title and undefeated record on the line against a relatively inexperienced rising contender and decorated amateur boxer in Ginny Fuchz.

Ruiz committed to the body shots more and made little use of jabs, enabling Fuchz to counter more effectively. Fuchz injured her hand during the fight but appeared to be in control of the fight with cleaner strikes.

While Ruiz picked up momentum in later rounds, Fuchz appeared to have solved the puzzle of her fighting style and never allowed Ruiz to swing the momentum in her favor. After 10 rounds of constant action, Fuchz was declared the winner by split decision and walked away with the interim WBC women's flyweight title. She became the first fighter to defeat Ruiz.

On the preliminary card, Alejandro Frias Rodriguez handed Fabian Rojo the first loss of his professional boxing career, winning the majority of rounds en route to a unanimous decision victory. Elsewhere, Criztech Bazaldua and Alex Gueche scored unanimous decision victories over Kyle Erwin and David Vargas, respectively.
