Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov was removed from a Frontier Airlines flight after a disagreement with flight attendants over his seating in the emergency exit row. Nurmagomedov, who was traveling to San Fransisco from Las Vegas to support his teammates for UFC 311, was informed that sitting in the exit row requires passengers to agree to assist in an emergency.
Despite the retired UFC star assuring the flight crew that he understood English and was capable of assisting in case of an emergency, the attendants insisted that he change his seat. The verbal exchange, recorded by a fellow passenger, showed the flight attendant calling for a supervisor after the Russian refused to vacate his seat. Ultimately, Nurmagomedov was escorted off the plane and rebooked onto a different flight.
He later posted a statement regarding the incident on social media, accusing the crew of being rude and suggesting that the incident may have been rooted in racial bias. The controversy quickly gained traction, with many in the MMA community showing support for 'The Eagle'.

In contrast, Dillon Danis, who has a history of tension with Nurmagomedov and his team, dropped a two-line reaction under a Frontier Airlines' Instagram post. Danis’ remark was seen by many as a provocative stance, given the long-standing rivalry between him and the Russian team. Danis wrote:
“Great Airlines”

Daniel Cormier reacts strongly to the Khabib Nurmagomedov plane incident
Daniel Cormier recently shared his thoughts on Khabib Nurmagomedov’s incident with Frontier Airlines, where 'The Eagle' was asked to either move from the emergency exit row or deboard the flight.
Instead of complying, Nurmagomedov chose to leave the flight. Cormier admired his teammate's calm response but stated that he would have reacted differently. He expressed that his pride would have made him refuse to move and that he would have boarded a later flight and sat back in the same seat.
Shedding light on the incident in a recent episode of ESPN MMA's Good Guy/Bad Guy podcast, Cormier said:
"I don’t think he did anything wrong. My pride would have made me get thrown off the flight, to go on a later flight, and guess what I would have done on that later flight? I would’ve sat right back in that exit row."
