Thai veteran Sam-A Gaiyanghadao has silenced his critics in the most spectacular fashion at ONE Friday Fights 81.
The 40-year-old former two-division ONE Muay Thai world champion and flyweight kickboxing king made quick work on his opponent, Akram Hamidi, as he was not at all surprised to have knocked out 'La Pepite' in the first round.
Before that high-stakes clash ensued, the legendary warrior has been hearing lots of callouts saying he should retire and that it is the end of the road for him. And, he proved them all wrong.

Sam-A showed that he hasn't lost his skillset after years fighting with ONE Championship, and he shared a strong message to all doubters in a post-fight interview with Nick Atkin.
But first, the battle-tested striker said this to his supporters:
"I want to say thank you for my fans all over the world who continue to support me. Thank you to my sponsors, now I gave the win to all of you guys."
Then, he continued:
"I want to say to those who didn’t believe in me, do you believe me now?"
Whatever's next for this mythical fighter, it is evident that he still have what it takes to hang with the best in the organization.

Sam-A aims for one last championship run before he retires
Despite knowing that he can still work his way into victory, Sam-A Gaiyanghadao knows he wouldn't be around for too long. And, it is the reason why he wants to have a last run for the championship before he calls it a day.
In the same interview with Nick Atkin, the former two-sport world champion and Evolve MMA superstar said:
"Yes, for sure. Before I retire, I want to be a champion first, then I retire."
