Fans lambasted Claressa Shields for her bold claims about a potential boxing match against Jake Paul. Since starting his professional boxing career, Paul has come a long way and amassed an 11-1 record. However, Shields is not convinced of his achievements.
In a recent interview with TMZ Sports, Shields, the women's boxing world champion, took a stinging jab at Paul for fighting over-the-hill MMA fighters and boxers. She then went on to give a bold prediction for a potential fight between her and Paul:
"I don't think Jake Paul has the skills to get inside the ring with me, or any of the guys at 154 pounds and up, who are in the rankings. I'm not gonna lie to you."
Shields continued her prediction on X, writing:

"I get him by stoppage KO"
Fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts. While some objected to the absurd idea of Shields vs. Paul, others predicted that Paul would handily defeat her in a fight.

While Shields took jabs at Paul, presumably to lambast him for fighting aging competitors, she does not seem to believe in men and women competing against each other in combat sports.
While discussing the issue in light of the Paris Olympics 2024 controversy involving Algerian boxer Imane Khelif, Shields said:
"I stand with women should fight against women; men should fight against men."

Claressa Shields thinks Jake Paul was not skilled enough to knock Mike Tyson out
Jake Paul is coming off a unanimous decision win against boxing legend Mike Tyson in a bizarre matchup on Nov. 15. The fight was criticized due to the massive age gap between the two. However, Paul's performance led many to believe he carried Tyson to the final bell instead of finishing him.
Shields, who seems visibly irked by Paul fighting aging competitors, thinks otherwise. In the aforementioned interview with TMZ Sports, she said:
"I think Paul tried to hold back in the later rounds. But I think in the beginning, I think if he could've knocked Mike Tyson out, I think he would've. But I don't think he's skilled enough to."
