Fans recently expressed their thoughts on the new UFC gloves following a decline in the number of knockouts in recent fights. A lot of people think that the quality of new gloves has nothing to do with the decline in knockout frequency.

In April, the promotion revealed the new gloves fighters will wear at different phases of their careers and provided details on when each glove will be used. The potential for UFC gloves to be improved and the possibility of introducing new technologies have been the subject of debate for years.

It appears that the promotion has at last created what they hope would be a better idea.

However, a user named Elon Rakhmonov on X, pointed out that the knockout frequency has decreased following the usage of new gloves. He wrote:

''Facts about the new UFC gloves: 3 entire cards, 37 fights, Only 2 KO’s via punches (Reese & Reyes). Are the new gloves worse or did fighters just suddenly lose power??''

Fans soon rushed to the comments section to share their reactions.

One fan wrote:

''I actually don't mind less knockouts and brain damage to be fair, long as the fights are still good''

Another fan wrote:

''Most of these fights would be a decision no matter what. Fights have just been horrible. Imavov just had Jared just about out last week. I guarantee we see ko’s at 303''

Other fans wrote:

''Honestly not many huge power punchers fought with the gloves. Let's Poatan and Lopes and then decide if the gloves are the problem''
''The UFC has done a stealth fix on the gloves, making them less damaging to the fighters heads. Sort of like the NFL changes helmet design for player safety, these gloves same thing.''

The gloves were officially used at UFC 302, which took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey on June 1.

Everything to know about the new UFC gloves

VICIS designed the new UFC gloves, which have new weight, color, form, and material options. The gloves weigh between 3-4.9oz and include an ergonomic curve for a snug fit around fighters' wrists.

The gloves, available in five colors, help distinguish between fights and brands. 'Road to the UFC' uses red, 'The Ultimate Fighter' uses different shades of black, Dana White's 'Contender Series' uses blue, black is used for primary UFC bouts and championship matches use gold.

It's noteworthy that fighters have added cushioning around their index and pinky fingers which shields them from probable fractures and and breaks in a vulnerable spot.
