Former UFC light heavyweight contender Corey Anderson has expressed his frustration with the matchmakers of the Professional Fighters' League (PFL), where he now competes. Anderson is the current Bellator MMA 205-pound champion, but with the PFL having bought Bellator, he operates under PFL's control.
Having signed a six-fight two-year deal in October 2022, Anderson has shared frustration with the PFL not honoring the contract, and stated that he still had three fights left on that contract.
Co-founder of the PFL, Donn Davis, has been called out by 'Overtime' for the lack of clarity regarding his fighting future. Anderson was recently interviewed by MMAFighting, where he compared his dealings with Scott Coker in Bellator to Davis in the PFL:
"With Donn and Pete [Murray], I don't know what their plans are. At the same time, from the outside looking in it looks like guys that haven't really spent much time in fighting, so they don't really know what they're doing at the moment. They're trying to make business moves. They're good at Wall Street-type stuff and stocks and making money. But that's a different game to the fight game, so I don't know their plans."

Bellator featherweight champion wants UFC move amid frustrations with PFL
The PFL appears to have frustrated not one, but two of the current champions signed to their roster, namely Corey Anderson and Patricio 'Pitbull' Freire.
Freire is a former Bellator lightweight champion and currently holds the featherweight title. But following PFL's acquisition of Bellator MMA it appears that several fighters from Bellator have seen their career come to a standstill, including the Brazilian.
'Pitbull' has expressed his desire to leave the PFL and be signed by the UFC, but he has not been released from his contract, despite requesting to do so. In a recent interaction with Ariel Helwani about the situation, he said:
"Now, for me it's about legacy. I want to fight in the UFC... When Dana White doesn't want someone, he says no. But when he was asked about me in a recent press conference he gave a 'so-so' kind of answer. I'm sure that when I'm free [from the PFL] we will be able to speak more."
