Devin Haney is the latest to express disappointment following Showtime's announcement.

Earlier this month, Showtime revealed that they were going to be dropping combat sports from the network. That didn't come as a major shock to MMA fans, as Bellator has been going through a high-profile sale to the PFL.

However, some in the boxing world were taken off guard as this decision caught them by surprise. While Al Haymon is reportedly already planning to take much of his talent to Amazon Prime, the move will negatively impact the sport in a massive way.

That hasn't been missed by one of the youngest stars in the sport, Devin Haney. 'The Dream' recently expressed disappointment at the news in an interview alongside Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour.

He also took a bit of a shot at those such as Dana White, who expressed joy over the news due to the firing of Stephen Espinoza. In the interview, the unified lightweight champion stated:

"I see some people are like happy about it, but I think it's a sad time for boxing. Showtime has done so much for the sport and it's just, it's a missing piece in boxing. HBO is gone, Showtime is gone, I think somebody new will come in but Showtime is real boxing... It's even bigger than Stephen Espinoza, it's just Showtime."

Who will Devin Haney fight next?

Devin Haney is currently expected to face Regis Prograis in December.

'The Dream' is one of the youngest stars in the sport today, being a unified champion at just 24 years old. Well, Haney isn't planning on just resting on his laurels and is already planning to get some more gold.

Following his win over Vasyl Lomachenko earlier this year, the lightweight champion showed interest in moving up. Quickly, he received a callout from 'Rougarou', who holds WBC gold at super lightweight.

Well, it didn't take long for the two to reach a deal, as Devin Haney is slated to face Regis Prograis in December. The two will headline a DAZN pay-per-view offering, with 'The Dream' looking for gold in his second weight class.

As of now, the unified lightweight champion is currently a heavy favorite to win in December. However, Prograis feels confident of his power and pulling off the upset. Coming off a split-decision win over Danielito Zorrilla in June, he will need all of that power later this year.
