Christian Lee's long-awaited return at ONE Fight Night 26 didn't exactly go as he would have envisioned.
The ONE lightweight and welterweight MMA world champion stepped back inside the iconic Lumpinee Stadium to headline the Dec. 6 spectacle alongside undefeated Turkish challenger Alibeg Rasulov.
Both superstars threw the kitchen sink at one another in the first round, and the action only picked up in the following stanza.

But as things got heated when both men fought tooth and nail to secure the lightweight crown that was up for grabs, Lee caught Rasulov in the eye with an unintentional poke that forced the fight to be declared a no contest.
Bangkok Post's Nick Atkin caught up with the double champ backstage to get his thoughts on his feelings shortly after the matchup. In response, Christian Lee admitted that he was still feeling fresh as ever:
"For me, right now, at this point, I'm still ready to go. I could still keep fighting right now. I was hoping to go out there and put on a show for everyone."

Christian Lee keen to run it back when Alibeg Rasulov is up and running
Due to the abrupt ending to the contest, talks about a rematch gained instant traction. For his part, Christian Lee is game to trade leather and square off with Rasulove once more to settle the score.
'The Warrior' had this to say at the post-fight press conference:
"I'm not sure what the immediate plans are going to be. But yeah, if they offer me that rematch again, I'm going to take it so I can finish it."
Any chance of fans seeing that materialize early next year might hit a standstill as Lee, later on, revealed that he would only return to action after his wife gives birth to his third kid.
