Oscar De La Hoya has reignited his feud with Dana White after labeling the UFC president a "douche" amidst the controversy of him slapping his wife.

White has been under fire since the beginning of the year after TMZ released footage of him out celebrating New Year's Eve with his wife, Anne. The pair were filmed drinking and arguing before Anne slapped him across the face. Dana White responded by immediately slapping her back.

The 53-year-old promoter has since publicly apologized and stated that there was no excuse for his behavior.

In an appearance on Ariel Helwani's The MMA Hour, the former world champion boxer, whose relationship with White started deteriorating in 2017, weighed in on the situation. According to 'The Golden Boy', he was left surprised that the UFC president has faced no further repurcussions for his actions:

"I was very surprised. There's a lot of powerful people behind the UFC and there's a lot of money behind the organization. What he did was obviously wrong, you don't hit women. I mean come on, you don't. It's a douche move, you don't do that. The powers to be swept it under the rug, I'm not going to get involved. Everybody knows he's a douche... Maybe criminal charges will happen? Who knows?"

Dana White promises Power Slap League will become "much safer"

Dana White's Power Slap League is currently airing on the TBS network every week for its eight-episode run.

Following the show's debut, the UFC president and his new promotion have been heavily criticized by fans and MMA fighters alike. Many consider the new show barbaric and unsafe, which was highlighted in Power Slap's first episode.

Chris Thomas and Chris Kennedy went head-to-head on the first show, where Kennedy took the first slap of the fight and dropped to the floor unconscious. The slap resulted in Thomas being declared the winner, but Chris Kennedy seemed unaware of his surroundings once he'd woken up.

Addressing the ongoing criticism, Dana White spoke to journalist Zain Bando and stated that they will make the sport "much safer" as it develops:

"Dana White tells me and many others that as season one of [Power Slap League] goes on, the sport will become 'much safer' and that more people will begin to understand how it actually works. I can't say that I'm not excited for episode two, because I am."
