Dricus du Plessis and Israel Adesanya went to war in a highly anticipated UFC 305 main event clash in Perth, Australia. 'Stillknocks' successfully defended the middleweight title by securing a fourth-round submission victory and his longtime coach, Morne Visser, has expressed interest in a rematch in South Africa.
Du Plessis resides in Pretoria, South Africa, and trains at the CIT Performance Institute, an MMA gym founded by Visser. With his victory over Sean Strickland at UFC 297, 'Stillknocks' became the first UFC champion from the Rainbow Nation.
Before Du Plessis vs. Adesanya, UFC CEO Dana White stated that should the middleweight champion retain his title against 'The Last Stylebener' at UFC 305, the promotion would look to book his next fight in South Africa.
Should the UFC play host to a pay-per-view card in South Africa, the CIT Performance Institute founder believes that Adesanya should be awarded a rematch.

Visser was interviewed by Submission Radio following UFC 305, where he said this:
"There's talks about doing Africa, or South Africa sometime - I don't think it's gonna be too soon. But I said to Izzy that I think the only guy that deserves to fight us in Africa is Izzy. It will be a rematch, the only guys that deserve Africa are the two Africans. The true Africans. Nobody else, that is my opinion."

Dricus du Plessis advises Alex Pereira to stay at 205 pounds
Dricus du Plessis handed Israel Adesanya the first submission defeat of his career in the main event of UFC 305. The South African successfully defended his title for the first time and welcomed all challengers in the wake of his victory.
Former rival of Adesanya's, Alex Pereira, shared a surprising reaction to the middleweight title fight, declaring that he would be returning to the 185-pound division for one last time, indicating interest in facing 'Stillknocks'.
But the middleweight king has warned 'Poatan' to remain at light heavyweight, where he currently holds the title. The 30-year-old was interviewed by Full Send MMA following his title win, where he said this about fighting Pereira:
"Alex Pereira shouldn't come down to 185 [pounds]. We saw what Izzy did to him in one round... If you got stiffened like that by Israel Adesanya you do not need to cut that weight and be in there with me. It's not going to end well."
