Dricus du Plessis is not a fan of Sean Strickland's fighting style. The hard-hitting South African believes 'Tarzan's' performances lack the flair to entertain fight fans.
Du Plessis is one of the most exciting fighters in the UFC. The reigning middleweight champion's unique, striking style, immense pressure, and potential finishing ability have seen him go unbeaten in the UFC. 'Stillknocks' takes pride in his fighting style and despises how Strickland operates.
After edging out Strickland via split decision in their UFC 297 title fight, du Plessis is set to rematch the American at UFC 312 in February.
While their first meeting earned the Fight of the Night bonus, du Plessis was not too impressed with his opponent, and his opinion of Strickland hasn't changed following his recent win over Paulo Costa.

Talking to Fox Sports Australia, the 185-pound champion said:
"Nothing's changed, he looked boring like every other fight, walking forward jabbing and teeping, it wasn't an exciting fight... It wasn't a bad performance, it was the most normal performance from him ever."
He added:
"In our fight, I remember there was a stage in the fight where I was walking forward, but he just kept moving away and I thought to myself, 'I'm going to stand here, maybe he gets the confidence to walk forward and we can punch it out.' And he just dropped his hands a little and said, 'cool.' He has no problem with the crowd booing his fighting style."

Dricus du Plessis' training partner feels the heat as 'Stillknocks' prepares for Sean Strickland rematch
Dricus du Plessis is leaving no stone unturned as he prepares for a rematch against Sean Strickland. The 30-year-old is training hard in the gym, and some of his training partners are feeling the heat.
The champion is bringing in pro fighters from all over the world to his fight camp. One of them incurred a serious injury during a particularly heated sparring session, breaking his orbital bone. During an appearance on the Jacaranda FM, du Plessis elaborated on the unfortunate occurrence, saying:
"We've brought in quite a few people. Fighters from all over the world that we are bringing in for training, other pro fighters... Some of them better than others. We had one guy, unfortunately, first day of sparring got a broken orbital [bone]... We were punching each other and his eye bone broke."
