Dricus du Plessis recently took to X/Twitter to reply to a tweet from none other than Darren Till. 'The Gorilla' shared a short clip of himself doing padwork and in the caption, asserted that he would 'destroy' both Israel Adesanya, as well as reigning UFC middleweight champion, Dricus du Plessis.
Naturally, this caught the South African's attention, who laughed off Till's claim by reminding the Englishman of the circumstances surrounding his departure from the UFC. According to promotional CEO Dana White, 'The Gorilla' requested his release from the UFC due to an admitted inability to compete with the best.

Du Plessis' words were a harsh reminder of the manner in which Till left the promotion. However, that hasn't stopped the Englishman from building himself up. In fact, 'The Gorilla' even offered Adesanya some tips on how to beat du Plessis.
He described du Plessis as a fighter who overreacts to feints and that Adesanya possessed the tools to pick him apart on the feet. Unfortunately, Till's advice had no impact on the UFC 305 main event, which saw du Plessis submit Adesanya after a back-and-forth four-round affair.
Now, the South African has officially defended his middleweight title and extended his win streak in the UFC to 8-0. No one has been able to beat him, with only ex-middleweight champion Sean Strickland coming close.
Dricus du Plessis essentially booted Darren Till from the UFC
Bold as he may be, Darren Till actually had the chance to become a UFC world champion. Unfortunately, his second-round submission loss to Tyron Woodley started a 1-5 downward spiral that culminated in him getting submitted by Dricus du Plessis in his final UFC bout.

With his market value at an all-time low, Till took the decision to leave the UFC. He has since taken part in a boxing match, and seems no closer to returning to the UFC.
