Dricus du Plessis, the UFC middleweight champion, was elated that the hip-hop megastar, Drake, had lost a large bet wagering against him at UFC 305. The Canadian star is well-known for spending a lot of money on his favorite sports teams and athletes.

Ahead of the highly anticipated middleweight clash at UFC 305 between former champion Adesanya and current champion du Plessis, the rapper posted a screenshot of his betting invoice, where he put up $450,000 on the Nigerian-born Kiwi, hoping to cash in $850,000 if he hit the wager.

Unfortunately for Drake, Adesanya was defeated via fourth-round submission by du Plessis, who was overjoyed not only to have successfully defended his throne but also that his skills had caused the man who bet against him to lose a ton of money.

The champion posted on his social media how delighted he was at the turn of events:

"From the bottom of my heart once again THANK YOU @Drake"

Drake is allegedly a gambling fiend as he has spent a tremendous amount of money on different teams and athletes, even on sports that he barely knows about.

Drake had lost another wager, betting against Dricus du Plessis

This isn't the first time Dricus du Plessis has had the opportunity to revel in shattering the hopes of someone betting against him. Previously, Drake also bet against du Plessis vs. Strickland at UFC 297.

The star posted the screenshot on Instagram as he bet $700,000 with an estimated payout of $1,379,000, but the South African crushed the superstar's hopes as he stole the victory in a thrilling back-and-forth fight.

'Stillknocks' did not pass up the opportunity, either, and took to X to thank Drake in a tongue-in-cheek way. writing:

"O snap, almost forgot. Thanks @drake."

Dricus du Plessis must be content with winning and defending his belt against former champions and beating all odds to outclass one of the greatest in the division.
