The audio clip managed to reach the middleweight champion on social media who fired back at Chimaev, poking fun at his lack of activity inside the UFC octagon.

"You just focus on trying to make it to a fight, any fight!"

Check out Dricus du Plessis' response below:

When Chimaev entered the UFC, he made waves by being highly active and at one point, even competed in three fights in a period of just over two months. But lately, his activity inside the octagon has gone down significantly.

Chimaev has only been part of one UFC fight in the last two years. His last octagon appearance took place in October 2023 when he locked horns against Kamaru Usman at UFC 294. The 30-year-old edged out a majority decision victory that night.

'Borz' is now scheduled to take on former champion Robert Whittaker at UFC 308. The event will be held on Oct. 26 at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.

What happened in Dricus du Plessis' last fight?

Dricus du Plessis recently made a walk to the UFC octagon on Aug. 18. He went toe-to-toe against Israel Adesanya in a grudge match for the middleweight belt at UFC 305. The event took place at the RAC Arena in Perth, Australia.

The fight was an exciting affair that ended with du Plessis scoring a submission victory via a neck crank in the fourth round. With the victory, 'Stillknocks' extended his win streak to 10 and also became the first fighter to submit Adesanya in MMA.
