It looks like Dricus du Plessis was not thrilled with Sean Strickland making excuses for his loss at UFC 297. In a recent post on Instagram, 'Stillknocks' fired shots at Strickland, sharing pictures from the fight.
For context, the South African clinched a split decision victory over 'Tarzan' at the pay-per-view. However, following the fight, Strickland claimed that a headbutt by du Plessis had compromised his vision during the fight, which impaired his performance.
Seeing as headbutts are illegal in MMA, it is no surprise that du Plessis didn't take too kindly to Strickland's accusations. In his recent social media post, the middleweight champion shared two pictures of him landing clean punches on the American's face, with the title:

"My headbutt variations."
This is far from the first time the pair has taken shots at each other. The bad blood between the pair runs deep. During the pre-fight press conference for UFC 297, 'Stillknocks' had brought Strickland to tears with a sly jibe at his abusive childhood.
By the looks of it, the pair wouldn't have to wait long to settle their feud. With both fighters winning their last fights in dominant fashion, it won't be out of the realm of possibility for the UFC to book a rematch between the two.
Dricus du Plessis confident of finishing Sean Strickland in a rematch
Safe to say that Dricus du Plessis has been bustling with confidence since beating Israel Adesanya at UFC 305. The 30-year-old now firmly believes he can make light work of Sean Strickland if they were to fight again.
Speaking about a potential rematch during the post-fight press conference following his win over 'The Last Stylebender', du Plessis said:
"Going into that Stickland fight now, I know I've been there with him. He can't handle what I have... Yeah, this time I can finish him. I mean we saw, yeah he beat Izzy [Adesanya]. Now we have a comparison. That's how you finish someone."

For context, at UFC 293, Strickland had beaten Adesanya via unanimous decision. However, 'Stillknocks' clinched a more dominant victory over the Nigerian-born Kiwi. Du Plessis rocked the former champion on the feet in Round 4, before changing levels and locking in a face crank, forcing Adesanya to tap out.
