Covington was last seen in a unanimous decision loss against former champion Leon Edwards at UFC 296. While often touted as one of the top fighters at 170 pounds, 'Chaos' is 2-3 in his last five outings.
In his next octagon appearance, Covington will next face surging contender Joaquin Buckley. 'New Mansa' is on a five-fight win streak with his most recent victory coming against Stephen Thompson via KO.
When Colby Covington faulted bias against Donald Trump for his title fight loss
Colby Covington failed in his third bid to claim an undisputed UFC title when he lost a unanimous decision to Leon Edwards at UFC 296. However, despite being outclassed by the Brit for the majority of the fight, 'Chaos' thought he would've won if the judges didn't have a bias against Donald Trump.
The fighter believed the judges ruled against him because of his known association with the politician. During the post-fight press conference at the event, Covington said:
"You know I thought I had the win. I thought I did enough but the judges never favored me. They hate me because I support Trump and everybody hates Trump in this building. It is what it is."
