Undefeated MMA fighter Jon Kunneman recently opened up about sparring UFC lightweight Justin Gaethje after consuming some edible "fun" gummies and getting high during a training session.

Gaethje is undoubtedly among the most popular mixed martial artists in the world today and is known for being one of the hardest-hitting punchers in the game. 'The Highlight' has a professional record of 25-5, with 20 of those wins coming via knockout. He's also a former UFC BMF champion.

During a recent Reddit AMA, a fan asked Kunneman if he ever got nervous or starstruck when sparring with MMA superstars. The fast-rising star admitted that while he used to get nervous initially, it's become part of his routine now. He then narrated a story about sparring Gaethje while high, stating:

"I used to, but now it’s just part of the routine. Funny story. I was kind of banged up from training, sore and stuff, I took some edible fun gummies - too many to spar and went to watch/coach my friends sparring. Trevor Wittman [Justin Gaethje's coach] walks up to me and asks if I can spar him for a couple rounds... I was pretty nervous sparring a killer like gaethje while high as a kite."

When Justin Gaethje opened up about working his way back to a title shot following UFC 300 KO loss

Justin Gaethje faced Max Holloway in an exciting BMF title clash at UFC 300 in April. The two striking savants put on a fireworks display for the fans, with 'Blessed' calling for a stand-and-bang exchange with Gaethje in the final round. Holloway ultimately caught 'The Highlight' with a hard right hand and secured a statement knockout victory in the final second of the fight.

In the aftermath, many wondered what the future held in store for the former title challenger. In a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Gaethje addressed fans' concerns and explained that he planned to work his way back into the title picture. He said:

"I could let this break me. If my skills weren't there, I definitely would have different questions, but I know for a fact that my skills are still there. I'm still able to perform like I always have been able to perform and as long as I have that skill and that desire then I see no reason to not fight again... So obviously right now after this fight, don't like losing again. That sucks. My potential to fight for a belt is definitely diminished, however, it's not impossible".
