Devin Haney suffered the first loss of his professional boxing career this weekend as he fell to Ryan Garcia via majority decision. While much of the boxing world, particularly fans of the sport, have used the loss as a way to kick 'The Dream' while he is down, Caleb Plant defended him amidst the criticism.
'Sweethands' took to X on Sunday to claim that a loss does not make a fighter bad, using the example of Roberto Duran to prove his point:
"We gotta stop acting like a loss means a fighter su*ks though. Y’all miss the golden era where everyone fought everyone but back then ALL great fighters had losses, had been stopped (Duran QUIT in the middle of a FIGHT, does he su*ks?). S/O to both for making it a great night."

Plant is famously referencing Roberto Duran vs. Sugar Ray Leonard II, billed as The Super Fight, which has since become known as the No Mas Fight. 'Manos de Piedra', which translates to 'Hands of Stone', turned away from his opponent near the end of the eighth round and quit the bout by telling the referee 'No Mas', translating to 'no more'.
While the bout was stopped and ruled a TKO victory for his opponent, Duran is still an International Boxing Hall of Famer, widely considered one of the greatest boxers of his generation.
