It looks like Dustin Poirier and many others in the MMA community were impressed with Charles Jourdain's sly guillotine submission over Victor Henry at UFC Edmonton.
Jourdain was on a two-fight skid coming into Edmonton, and a win was non-negotiable.
The Canadian put out a terrific performance from the opening bell. After edging out his opponent in a competitive first round, 'Air' wrapped up business in the second. As Henry scrambled to get back to his feet after the fight went to ground momentarily, Jourdain locked in a lightning-fast guillotine to force a tap out of his opponent.

Poirier, known for his love for guillotines, was quick to commend the fighter with a witty two-word response:
"Gilly goose."
Former bantamweight kingpin Aljamain Sterling also lauded 'Air' with some inventive wordplay:
"Don't be silly! Jump the Gilly! Jourdain with the finish!"
Combat sports journalist Shakiel Mahjouri also chimed in:
"Charles Jourdain with the LIGHTNING QUICK guillotine in a competitive fight with Victor Henry."

Interestingly, guillotines appear to be Jourdain's signature move. The 28-year-old has secured four of his six submission wins via the hold.
Speaking to Daniel Cormier during his post-fight octagon interview, 'Air' explained the rationale behind the submission, claiming that wrestlers like Henry tend to push with their heads while trying to secure a single leg, leaving them vulnerable to a modified power guillotine.
Furthermore, Jourdain promised Canadians that he'd bring home the featherweight title if they voted for Conservative party leader Pierre Poilievre in the 45th Canadian Federal Elections.
