Dustin Poirier recently weighed in on Conor McGregor withdrawing from his highly anticipated octagon return against Michael Chandler at UFC 303. The Irishman was scheduled to headline the event, which was his first bout in three years.

'The Notorious' last competed at UFC 264, where he fought 'The Diamond' in their trilogy bout. Unfortunately for the former two-division champion, he suffered a gruesome leg injury that resulted in him being unable to continue and lost a first-round TKO due to doctor's stoppage.

Championship Rounds tweeted a clip from a recent episode of ESPN's Good Guy / Bad Guy, which shows Chael Sonnen asking 'The Diamond' his thoughts on the Irishman's return being postponed. Poirier noted that UFC 303 is still an exciting card, but McGregor's return is significant for the promotion. He said:

"I'm excited about the card we have Saturday but seeing Conor [McGregor] come back from the injury is a big deal. But one of them little pinkies went to the market."
