Dustin Poirier recently revealed a heartwarming gesture made by Khabib Nurmagomedov, who bought his UFC 302 fight kit to support his charity.
Poirier and his wife Jolie established The Good Fight Foundation in his hometown in 2018. The charity undertakes numerous philanthropic endeavors and has previously auctioned off fighter gear to raise funds. Notably, Max Holloway donated his gloves after his fight with Poirier back in 2019.
At UFC 302 earlier this year, 'The Diamond' donned custom floral shorts in his fifth-round submission loss against Islam Makhachev. Nurmagomedov has now acquired the shorts through Poirier's The Good Fight Foundation, donating $30,000 to the American's charity.

During an interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Poirier revealed how the Dagestani's team reached out to buy the fight kit, saying:
''Somebody outbid the last bidder at the last minute and didn't pay. People do that all the time, people suck, man... Ali [Abdelaziz] reached out to me, Khabib wants to buy it.''

Khabib Nurmagomedov has previously donated to Dustin Poirier's charity
This is not the first time Khabib Nurmagomedov has assisted Dustin Poirier in his charitable endeavors.
At UFC 242, Nurmagomedov defeated Poirier via third-round submission in their title unification bout. They exchanged their walkout T-shirts soon after the fight, and Nurmagomedov revealed in his post-fight interview that he would sell the shirt and the proceeds would go to The Good Fight Foundation.
"Why I wear this T-shirt? I know Dustin do lot of charity stuff. Guys, make sure, I'm gonna sell this t-shirt. All this money I'm gonna send Dustin Poirier."

Nurmagomedov sold the T-shirt for $100,000, which was matched by Dana White, seeing $200,000 go to Poirier's charity.
