Dustin Poirier has reacted to a picture from his last fight featured in ESPN MMA’s coldest pics from the UFC in 2024.
The UFC continues its growth trajectory by consistently delivering top-tier matchups, providing full entertainment for MMA fans throughout the year. As the year came to a close, ESPN MMA took to Instagram to share some of the "coldest" snaps from UFC 2024.
Among the featured pictures are Alex Pereira’s first-round knockout of Jamahal Hill at UFC 300, Max Holloway’s last-second knockout of Justin Gaethje, Dustin Poirier’s bloody battle against Islam Makhachev, where his nose was bleeding heavily, and many more iconic moments.

‘The Diamond’ faced Islam Makhachev in the main event of UFC 302. In a hard-fought battle, the American was unable to dethrone the lightweight champion and was submitted by a D'Arce choke in the fifth round.
However, Poirier earned widespread praise from MMA fans and pundits alike. The bout also garnered fight of the night honors.
Poirier took notice of ESPN MMA’s post and gave a three-word reaction, writing:
“Still can’t breathe.”

Ahead of UFC 302, Poirier revealed that the fight would be his last. However, ever since, Poirier has been teasing fans about one last dance.
He expressed his desire to face Holloway in a trilogy bout as his final fight.
Islam Makhachev praises Dustin Poirier’s wrestling skills following their fight at UFC 302
Islam Makhachev is set to defend his lightweight belt for the fourth time against Arman Tsarukyan in their rematch at UFC 311 on Jan. 18 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.
Ahead of their clash, Daniel Cormier interviewed Makhachev on ESPN MMA. During it, Cormier asked him about the performance of the former interim lightweight champion in their fight at UFC 302.
The Dagestani praised Poirier’s wrestling skills and admitted that the veteran American gave him a hard time, saying:
"Honestly, Dustin improved his wrestling game a lot because always he have that trouble with the wrestling fighters who have good skills, wrestling skills. That's why I think he did a good job in the camp. He improved his defense and he gave me a hard time."
