Ebanie Bridges responded to a false report regarding her next fight. Bridges has not competed since December 2023, when she lost the IBF female bantamweight title to Miyo Yoshida by unanimous decision.
Recently, a fake X account pretending to be boxing journalist Michael Benson cited former Grueling Truth Sports Network journalist Hamed as the source, claiming that Bridges was set to fight Skyle Nicolson on Feb. 14, writing:
"Ebanie Bridges vs Skye Nicolson is a DONE DEAL, for February 14th at the MCG. [@HamedBoxing]"
Bridges reacted humorously to the false news, writing:

"LMAO apparently we have a valentines date @skyebnic. [Laughing emojis]"
The same fake account on X recently stirred controversy in the MMA community by claiming that former UFC double champion Conor McGregor was scheduled to fight Logan Paul. The report stated that both fighters would earn a purse of $250 million each. However, none of the parties involved, except McGregor, have commented on the report. Some analysts have also rubbished the claims about the rumored mega fight.
Ebanie Bridges reveals who motivated her to take up boxing
Ebanie Bridges made her professional boxing debut in February 2019 and has since built an impressive 9-2 record. She has held the ANBF Australasian female super bantamweight and the IBF bantamweight titles, establishing herself as one of the prominent female professional boxers.
In a recent interview with Daily Star Sports, Bridges shared her inspieaion for pursuing a career in professional boxing, revealing who motivated her to take this path. Bridges, who also worked as a ring girl, said that the profession is usually not respected in the combat sports community. However, a fellow ring girl inspired her to step in the ring as a competitor:
"I also had a ring girl called Amber Fields, she's in America who I inspired me to start boxing! She joined Misfits, and she said to me, she goes, ‘you know you inspired me so much because your were a ring girl, and now you World Champion made me want to start boxing.'" [H/T Daily Star]
She added:
"For me, being a ring girl, actually, when I then transitioned into actually fighting, I had so many fans from being a ring girl in Australia that they all followed my boxing career. It’s given a good start!" [H/T Daily Star]
A few weeks ago, Bridges showed off her baby bump and is expected to be away from competition for the better part of the year. However, she is continuing training in whatever way she can and explained what she misses the most about her training.
