Khabib Nurmagomedov was the UFC lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev is the current UFC titleholder, and according to the pair's manager Team Khabib has completely taken over the mixed martial arts landscape. Ali Abdelaziz took to social media to express his thoughts after a fighter from his stable just collected gold in the Professional Fighters League.

This transpired when Gadzhi Rabadanov finished former Bellator lightweight champion Brent Primus with a torrent of punches in the third round of their battle for the PFL lightweight tournament title today. Ali Abdelaziz is no stranger to making boisterous social media claims or shining a spotlight on his highly pedigreed fighters which made this latest post not surprising.

In the wake of Rabadanov becoming this season's champion at 155 pounds and adding more gold to Team Khabib, Abdelaziz wrote:

"Now @TeamKhabib have ever belt for every promotion around the world. @MAKHACHEVMMA UFC champion. @Usmannmgdv bellator champion. @Gadzhi Rabadanov PFL CHAMPION."

The Team Khabib championship stable

Khabib Nurmagomedov retired as the reigning UFC lightweight champion after multiple title defenses as he hung up the gloves after going 29-0 as a pro-MMA fighter. Since then he has seamlessly redirected his focus toward Team Khabib to elevating today's and future champions.

Just minutes out from Rabadanov impressively cementing himself as a champion within PFL, Abdelaziz shouted out Team Khabib doing strong for years now.

Islam Makhachev captured UFC gold in Oct. 2022 against Charles Oliveira. This took place at UFC. The UFC 280 headliner saw Makhachev submit the UFC's leader in submission finishes with an arm triangle in the second round of their matchup.

Since capturing the belt, Makhachev has done on to defend the gold in back-to-back outings against then-featherweight champion Alexander Volkanski and most recently against Dustin Poirier at UFC 302 in June.

Also for Usman Nurmagomedov, he captured his 155-pound belt just a few weeks after Makhachev ascended to his throne in the UFC. At Bellator 288 in Nov. 2022, Nurmagomedov claimed the strap from Patricky Pitbull by way of a unanimous decision and has been in several title bouts since.

Nurmagomedov has since been in Bellator title fights as the lightweight champion against Benson Henderson, the aforementioned Brent Primus (later turned to a no-contest), and most recently Alexander Shabliy. Usman Nurmagomedov is set to defend his crown again versus Paul Hughes at PFL: Road to Dubai - Champions Series.
