ONE's top-five bantamweight Stephen Loman could be just one win away from a world title opportunity. On November 18, he’ll have the chance to score that one big victory. However, it will come against one of the most tenured talents in the promotion- former bantamweight titleholder Bibiano Fernandes.
Sharing his thoughts on the bantamweight matchup is another man who knows what it takes to become a ONE world champion, Eduard Folayang. Speaking to ONE, the former lightweight king gave his thoughts on Stephen Loman heading into the ONE on Prime Video 4 contest:
“I really thought that Stephen was going to fight Kwon Won II but ONE Championship gave him Bibiano, so I was kind of surprised about it. Nonetheless, this will be an incredible fight.”
Folayang continued:

“If you’ve watched Stephen’s fights closely, you’ll see that he’s a fighter who can mix things up in any scenario. Stephen has a great wrestling style and he’s a very strong fighter on the ground. He’s a really unorthodox fighter, he’s not conventional.”
Debuting for ONE in late 2021, ‘The Sniper’ scored a first-round knockout over Yusup Saadulaev. He followed that up with a unanimous decision victory over Shoko Sato at ONE X in March. Now, Loman will test his skills against a bonafide ONE Championship legend in Bibiano ‘The Flash’ Fernandes.
Stephen Loman could lay claim to a bantamweight title fight with a win over Bibiano Fernandes
Undefeated inside the circle, Stephen Loman is excited to share the stage with a legend like Bibiano Fernandes at ONE on Prime Video 4 this November.
Knowing that a world title opportunity looms in the balance, ‘The Sniper’ is doing his best to stay focused on the task at hand:
“This is my chance to focus on fighting him [Fernandes] and defeating him because he’s the No.1-ranked [contender]. And if I beat him, I will have the chance to fight for the title.”
For Bibiano Fernandes, this will be an opportunity to get back into the win column following his bantamweight championship loss to John ‘Hands of Stone’ Lineker at ONE: Lights Out in March.
A victory for ‘The Flash’ would put him right back into world title contention. It could also lead to a matchup with the winner of an anticipated rematch between John Lineker and No. 2-ranked contender Fabricio Andrade.
Given that no one wears the bantamweight crown at this moment, Fernandes could even fight Andrade straight away for the vacant title after defeating Loman.
