ONE Championship’s reigning lightweight champion Christian Lee will go for two-division glory when he returns to the circle at ONE on Prime Video 4 on November 18. After recapturing the lightweight crown with a dominant performance against Ok Rae Yoon at ONE 160 in August, ‘The Warrior’ will now meet welterweight titleholder Kiamrian Abbasov.
Sharing his thoughts on the champion vs. champion showcase is former lightweight world champion Eduard Folayang. In an interview with ONE Championship, Folayang said that he believes Abbasov will carry the advantage of being the bigger fighter.
“Since Christian is moving up a weight class, I feel that the advantage always belongs to the champion Abbasov.”
While anything can happen in mixed martial arts, Folayang gives Abbasov a slight advantage due to his size but suggests Christian Lee’s elite skill set could be a difference-maker in the main event clash.

“I think the odds look like 55-45, Abbasov. This is still MMA and at the end of the day there are a lot of things to consider. It really is a battle of wits because Abbasov has the natural size advantage while Christian brings in a unique skill set. Let’s see, this will be interesting.”

Christian Lee ready to challenge himself against a bigger opponent in Kiamrian Abbasov
Once again establishing himself as the best lightweight fighter in ONE Championship today, Christian Lee is now ready for a new challenge when he faces welterweight titleholder Kiamrian Abbasov. The two stars will clash in the ONE on Prime Video 4 main event on November 18 with the welterweight crown on the line.
In an interview with South China Morning Post, ‘The Warrior’ shared his desire to challenge himself like never before against the welterweight division’s top dog. Believing that he is the better all-around fighter between the two, Lee recognizes that a fight with Kiamrian Abbasov will be the toughest test of his career.
“I think he’s very skilled, but I think my style lines up well with his style. I think that I’m faster, I think that I’m a better striker, I’m a better grappler, and you know I would love to test myself against the champion one division up."
Lee continued:
“For me, I’m always open to new challenges and I think that Kiamrian Abbasov would absolutely be the toughest fight of my career and I would love to test myself that way.”
