Reigning ONE lightweight world champion Christian Lee is deep in preparation for his next fight, which comes in less than a month’s time.
Lee will attempt to become a two-division ONE world champion when he takes on Kyrgyzstan’s Kiamrian Abbasov for the welterweight world championship at ONE on Prime Video 4. The event is set for November 18 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Before Lee gets the chance to hoist two ONE world title belts over his shoulders, he’s going to be watching the proceedings at ONE Championship’s next event, where another man will get the chance to reach champ-champ status.

Reigning ONE lightweight kickboxing world champion ‘The Immortal’ Regian Eersel will go head-to-head with Thai phenom Sinsamut Klinmee for the inaugural ONE lightweight Muay Thai world title. The bout serves as the co-main event of ONE on Prime Video 3: Lineker vs. Andrade, which broadcasts live via Prime Video on October 21.
If Eersel wins this fight, he will have both kickboxing and Muay Thai gold in his possession. Speaking to ONE Championship in an exclusive interview, Christian Lee shared his thoughts on this highly anticipated matchup:
“I think Regian Eersel will win the fight and [get the] title. They’re both good strikers, but Regian Eersel will use his championship experience to win over the decision.”
Lee is right to believe that Eersel’s experience could carry him through this fight. Eersel is 7-0 in ONE Championship, and has taken out tough opponents like Dutch legend Nieky Holzken, Mustapha Haida, and most recently, former adversary Arian Sadikovic.
However, it wouldn’t be wise to count out Sinsamut, who has emerged as ONE Championship’s Cinderella man as of late. Sinsamut went from sliding into ONE’s DM’s to winning back-to-back $50,000 performance bonuses and earning a shot at the world title.
Sinsamut has been counted out his entire life, and even though he enters this bout against Eersel as the perceivable underdog, it’s very risky to bet against him.
Christian Lee wants to "test himself" at welterweight against Kiamrian Abbasov
Always down for new challenges, ONE lightweight world champion Christian Lee is ready to make a splash in the welterweight division.
Speaking to the South China Morning Post, Christian Lee was asked why he wants to face Abbasov and go for another belt, he said:
“I think he’s very skilled, but I think my style lines up well with his style. I think that I’m faster, I think that I’m a better striker, I’m a better grappler, and you know, I would love to test myself against the champion one division up. For me, I’m always open to new challenges and I think that Kiamrian Abbasov would absolutely be the toughest fight of my career, and I would love to test myself that way.”

After his older sister Angela failed in her bid to reach champ-champ status against Xiong Jing Nan, it’s up to the younger Lee to realize that dream of having two ONE world titles in his possession.
