Elle Brooke, the reigning Misfits Boxing women's middleweight champion, has admitted that she didn't give her 100% in her recent draw against Paige VanZant. The fight, which took place on May 26 at MF & DAZN: X Series 15 in Houston, was a closely contested affair that ultimately ended in a draw.
Despite knocking VanZant down in the first round, Brooke believes she could have done more to secure a decisive victory. In a recent video, Brooke explained that she became complacent after the knockdown, believing she had the fight under control:
"In the fight, I was [like] I won this thing, after knocking her down in the first round. And it was kind of like false hope... So I think if I thought I was losing it or was going to draw it... I could have done so much more. If it was like winning one of the rounds a little bit more, you know."
