Elon Musk thanked Joe Rogan for praising X as a reliable news source. Musk purchased Twitter, now X, in 2022 and has made several changes to it. X, along with other social media platforms, played a significant role in the 2024 United States presidential elections, giving voice to Republican candidate Donald Trump's campaign.
Recently, Rogan took to the social media platform and praised it for being a popular and trustworthy news source:
"X is the most reliable, and most popular news source in the world."
Musk replied:

"Thanks, Joe, that means a lot coming from you!"
Rogan and Musk share a close personal relationship. The Tesla CEO has multiple times appeared on Rogan's The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) podcast. Most recently, the pair partnered in November when Rogan, in a significant move, openly endorsed Donald Trump for the Presidential election and praised Musk's arguments in favor of the Republican Party candidate on the podcast.
Joe Rogan explains what makes X a reliable source for him over mainstream media
In a recent episode of JRE, Joe Rogan criticized the mainstream media for their reluctance to accept social media platforms, particularly X, as new and reliable sources of news. He argued that the mainstream media has diminished its own credibility through its actions, saying:
You guys f***ed us too many times. And we don't believe you anymore. So the only way for us to find out what's real and what's not real is someone posts it online, and everybody looks at it and then you get the community note. That's way better than the New York Times telling me that fruit loops in Canada are exactly the same as the fruit loops in Canada, except for the bunch of illegal sh** that's banned and the whole point of it."

Rogan has also been a fierce critic of governments trying to put restrictions on social media platforms. In one of his previous podcast episodes, Rogan said that the US government was on its way to assuming full control of media but Elon Musk acquiring X delivered a significant blow to the process.
